Last Saturday the second Labrys General Assembly members discussed the new version of Labrys statute and voted for changes. The new statute contains new procedures for decision-making within the organization which include General Assembly of members as the highest body which delegates responsibilities on strategic decisions to the organization’s Board and monitoring of the organization’s financial, administrative and program processes to Monitoring Council. The board as approved has a quota for 2 male-identified and female-identified people with one place reserved for either gender. In addition, the members decided that Labrys should register as an LGBT organization. As of now it is registered officially as a ‘public association for protection of vulnerable groups of women’. The re-registration will take place in January and February 2008 depending on reaction from the Ministry of Justice to having an official LGBT organization.
